Ok for today im gonna add some dead notes in our lil lessons to
add some cool sound to it. So now you have read and done Vol.2 and
Vol.3 youve learned pop and slap and put them both together.
So now you need to learn what a dead note is. A dead is where you
press lightly on the fretboard not on a fret but put your fingere(s)
on the string that you wanna dead note. Onve you got the hang of
that do this excersize. A dead note is marded with and X.
G———————————————————————|
D————————0——————————————|
A——————————0—0—X—X——————|
E0—X—X—0———————————0—X—X|

Easy once you get the hang of it. Ok now lets put some hammer ons
and some frets in that. A hammer on is where you play a note lets
say G|7 then put your pinky on a different fret like G|7h10 do
not hit the second note let it ring. Once your done doing that
lets do the next excersize. A hammer on is marked with an h.
G————————————————————————| Repeat this twice then immidietly without a pause do this one.
D—————————5——————————————|
A———————————3h5—X—X——————|
E—3—X—X—3———————————3—X—X|

G———————————————————————————————————————| Repeat this twice the slap a 3 on the E.

so thats all in this lesson good luck.
Bass tablature (tabs) is an easy way to learn songs without needing to read traditional sheet music. Here’s a quick guide to understanding the symbols and techniques commonly found in tabs:
Each line in a tab represents a string on your bass:
Numbers on the lines indicate which fret to press. For example:
G|-------------------| D|-------------------| A|---3---------------| E|-------------------|
This means you play the 3rd fret on the A string.
Play the first note by picking it, then press down on a higher fret with another finger without picking again.
G|-------------------| D|-------5h7---------|
Pluck a note and then "pull off" your finger to let a lower fret ring.
G|-------------------| D|-------7p5---------|
Move your finger up (/) or down (\) the fretboard while maintaining pressure.
G|-------------------| D|-------5/7---------|
G|-------7b9---------|
G|-------7~----------|
Tabs don’t always indicate timing, so listen to the song while reading the tab. Wider spaces between numbers mean longer pauses, while closer numbers indicate quicker notes.
Tabs are a great tool to learn songs, but mastering the techniques takes practice. Listen carefully to the original track and play along to lock in the rhythm. Don’t rush — smooth, accurate playing is more important than speed. Happy jamming! 🎸
