'Her ghost in the fog' Cradle of Filth

when I play it.

When you listen to this bit you should hear some
operatic style singing, you should be playing the
6 8 6565 8 777 8 part when this happens. After this
there is a pause and you will here 4 beats on the
bass drum then you play the 1 030 4 bit, it you play
this right you will just have played 8 777 8 for the
2nd time when he changes his voice. When you play
the 5 5 5 5 it sounds best if you stop the notes
straight away after playing them.

Its hard to get the timing right for this piece
the bass and guitar are quiet and the drums dont
keep the same rhythm as them. You can get the timing
from the vocals with practice.

Cradle of Filth are an English extreme metal band, formed in Suffolk in 1991. The band's musical style evolved from death metal to a cleaner and more "produced" amalgam of gothic metal, symphonic black metal and other extreme metal styles, while their lyrical themes and imagery are heavily influenced by gothic literature, poetry, mythology and horror films.
Bass tablature (tabs) is an easy way to learn songs without needing to read traditional sheet music. Here’s a quick guide to understanding the symbols and techniques commonly found in tabs:
Each line in a tab represents a string on your bass:
Numbers on the lines indicate which fret to press. For example:
G|-------------------|
D|-------------------|
A|---3---------------|
E|-------------------|
This means you play the 3rd fret on the A string.
Play the first note by picking it, then press down on a higher fret with another finger without picking again.
G|-------------------|
D|-------5h7---------|
Pluck a note and then "pull off" your finger to let a lower fret ring.
G|-------------------|
D|-------7p5---------|
Move your finger up (/) or down (\) the fretboard while maintaining pressure.
G|-------------------|
D|-------5/7---------|
G|-------7b9---------|
G|-------7~----------|
Tabs don’t always indicate timing, so listen to the song while reading the tab. Wider spaces between numbers mean longer pauses, while closer numbers indicate quicker notes.
Tabs are a great tool to learn songs, but mastering the techniques takes practice. Listen carefully to the original track and play along to lock in the rhythm. Don’t rush — smooth, accurate playing is more important than speed. Happy jamming! 🎸
