Light my Fire — The Doors
—————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————
Tabbed By : Reece F

Tuning: Eb Ab Db Gb
There was nothing wrong with the 5 star light my fire tab, it was
all correct but there was a few minor things that I would like
to make clear so you dont have to spend time working em out yourself.
The tuning is flat aswell. If you dont know to tune your strings
down to flat then I'll tell ya. Its just like when your tuning
normally, you play the 5th fret of E til it sounds like your A string,
well play the 6th fret of E til it sounds like the a string by tuning
it down, its kinda hard to explain. e—mail me and I'll try and
make it clearer, but if you get that then just do it for all the
strings til you get to tuning G to Gb, then you just put your finger
on the 5th fret of the A string (which is now Ab) and tune the G down
till it sounds the same. Hope thats understandable!
Listen to the song to get the best feel of timing.

Lyrics:
You know that it would be untrue
You know that I would be a liar
If I was to say to you
Girl, we couldn't get much higher
Come on baby, light my fire
Come on baby, light my fire
Try to set the night on fire
The time to hesitate is through
No time to wallow in the mire
Try now we can only lose
And our love become a funeral pyre
Come on baby, light my fire
Come on baby, light my fire
Try to set the night on fire, yeah
The time to hesitate is through
No time to wallow in the mire
Try now we can only lose
And our love become a funeral pyre
Come on baby, light my fire
Come on baby, light my fire
Try to set the night on fire
You know that it would be untrue
You know that I would be a liar
If I was to say to you
Girl, we couldn't get much higher
Come on baby, light my fire
Come on baby, light my fire
Try to set the night on fire
Try to set the night on fire
Try to set the night on fire
Try to set the night on fire
I'm pretty sure thats, 99%, but I'm a bit unsure about the solo,
please e—mail me with correction. Please rate it well cos i had
to quadruple check how many bars there was in the solo.
The Doors were an American rock band formed in 1965 in Los Angeles, California. Through most of its existence, the group consisted of vocalist Jim Morrison, keyboardist Ray Manzarek, drummer John Densmore, and guitarist Robby Krieger. They were among the most controversial rock acts of the 1960s, due mostly to Morrison's wild, poetic lyrics and charismatic but unpredictable stage persona. After Morrison's death in 1971, the remaining members continued as a trio until finally disbanding for good in 1973.
Bass tablature (tabs) is an easy way to learn songs without needing to read traditional sheet music. Here’s a quick guide to understanding the symbols and techniques commonly found in tabs:
Each line in a tab represents a string on your bass:
Numbers on the lines indicate which fret to press. For example:
G|-------------------|
D|-------------------|
A|---3---------------|
E|-------------------|
This means you play the 3rd fret on the A string.
Play the first note by picking it, then press down on a higher fret with another finger without picking again.
G|-------------------|
D|-------5h7---------|
Pluck a note and then "pull off" your finger to let a lower fret ring.
G|-------------------|
D|-------7p5---------|
Move your finger up (/) or down (\) the fretboard while maintaining pressure.
G|-------------------|
D|-------5/7---------|
G|-------7b9---------|
G|-------7~----------|
Tabs don’t always indicate timing, so listen to the song while reading the tab. Wider spaces between numbers mean longer pauses, while closer numbers indicate quicker notes.
Tabs are a great tool to learn songs, but mastering the techniques takes practice. Listen carefully to the original track and play along to lock in the rhythm. Don’t rush — smooth, accurate playing is more important than speed. Happy jamming! 🎸
