I wrestled with learning this song for some time before I eventually got
it sounding pretty close (if not exact) to how the song on the album sounds.
The part in tabs here is JUST THE INTRO.  Fear not, however; the entire
song uses this same piece.  The part that is _NOT_ in "repeat" bars at the
beginning of the transcription is actually repeated twice during the song.
The rest of the transcription (most of which IS in "repeat" bars) is played
just as shown.  At the very end of this transcription is the short "ending"
of the entire song, as I play it.

About Green Day

Green Day is an American rock trio formed in 1987. The band has consisted of lead vocalist and guitarist Billie Joe Armstrong, bassist and backing vocalist Mike Dirnt, and drummer Tré Cool for the majority of its existence. The band is credited as one of the two main bands, along with The Offspring, who put the punk revival into process.

5. Slap and Pop

Slap (s): Strike the string with the side of your thumb for a percussive sound.
Pop (p): Pull the string away from the fretboard and let it snap back.
