Verse
Riff A
A|————5———5—7—————————5———5—7—————
E|5—5———5—————0—0—5—5———5—————0—0—
Come in at the same time as the drums. I'm not sure if
the open sting is actually played by the bass but I've kept
it in there anyway.
Riff B
A|————7———7—9————————7———7—9————
E|7—7———7———————7——7———7————————
I guess it was the beatings...
Again, same as guitar. For the verse you play this four times then
return to Riff A
Chorus
A|22222222222224——————————————————————————————————————————————————
E|————————————————33333333333335——222222222——0—2—33333333333333333
This is the same as the guitar's chords but different rythem
Fill 1 (when eddy says "forgive")
A|—————————————————————————————————————
E|5—5——————5—5——/————5—5——————5—5—————
Play the fill once then play the verse again
After the second chorus play:
Fill 2 (second time eddy says "forgive")
E|5——5(hold the note then slide up)—————
Then rest for a bit. It's hard to explain when to come in for the next
bit just listen for it on the CD:
Fill 3
A|————5/7—————5/7—————5/7—
E|5—5—————5—5—————5—5—————
ect.
For the bit when Eddy's singing "saw things... saw things..." You can play
Riff A without the open Es, then Riff B for "clearer, clearer", then return
to riff A. Once he says "REARVIEWMIRROR!" play the chorus riff twice. Then:
When he sing's "finally the shades are raised":
E|77777777777777775555555555555555 << Repeat
Saw things so much clearer... once you.. once you..
Outro (play as soon as the lyrics end

...1 & 2 & 3 & 4 & 1 & 2 & 3 & 4 &
Just remember when playing Pearl Jam that Jeff Ament isn't a grinder. He's not content to chug out root notes or copy the guitar. He almost always has his own thing going on.
