LYRICS
Alice, what's the matter, Alice, what's the matter
Something about you really puts me down,
You're the life of the party, you're the toast of the town.
Something about you really picks me up,
Like a hot cup of coffee in a hot coffee cup.
Feels like a Saturday, free and easy—going }
Reminded it's a Sunday, stops the flow from flowing} pre
You can see clearly now the rain has gone,} chorus
But it looks like someones gone and dropped the bomb.}
Alice, what's the matter, Alice, what's the matter x2} chorus
Something about her, she reminds me of you,
Something about him, he could be me too,
Something about them, something about the other,
Something I got to tell you about my dad and you're mother
(pre—chorus and chorus)
(solo)
Alice, what's the matter, Alice, what's the matter x2
Something about black, something about white,
Something about wrong, something about right,
Something about us, something about them,
Something about Bill, definitely something about Ben
Something about you, something about me,
Something about a, b, c, d and e
Something about hell, something about heaven,
Something about 4, 5, 6 and 7
Alice, what's the matter, Alice, what's the matter x2
Terrorvision are an English rock band. They were formed in 1987 (originally as The Spoilt Bratz) in Keighley, and initially disbanded in 2001. The band used Bradford as a base after the name change to Terrorvision, by which time the band members had left home and all moved there.
Bass tablature (tabs) is an easy way to learn songs without needing to read traditional sheet music. Here’s a quick guide to understanding the symbols and techniques commonly found in tabs:
Each line in a tab represents a string on your bass:
Numbers on the lines indicate which fret to press. For example:
G|-------------------|
D|-------------------|
A|---3---------------|
E|-------------------|
This means you play the 3rd fret on the A string.
Play the first note by picking it, then press down on a higher fret with another finger without picking again.
G|-------------------|
D|-------5h7---------|
Pluck a note and then "pull off" your finger to let a lower fret ring.
G|-------------------|
D|-------7p5---------|
Move your finger up (/) or down (\) the fretboard while maintaining pressure.
G|-------------------|
D|-------5/7---------|
G|-------7b9---------|
G|-------7~----------|
Tabs don’t always indicate timing, so listen to the song while reading the tab. Wider spaces between numbers mean longer pauses, while closer numbers indicate quicker notes.
Tabs are a great tool to learn songs, but mastering the techniques takes practice. Listen carefully to the original track and play along to lock in the rhythm. Don’t rush — smooth, accurate playing is more important than speed. Happy jamming! 🎸
