1. The Basics

Strings and Frets:
Each line in a tab represents a string on your bass:
- The top line is the highest-pitched string (G on a 4-string bass).
- The bottom line is the lowest-pitched string (E on a 4-string bass).
Numbers on the lines indicate which fret to press. For example:

The first bit is what the bass guitar plays in the background of the song. It's a little bit hard to hear when you listen to the original version.

The second bit is what the voice sings - it's the tune for the words. I put both so you can pick one or the other to play along to.
