Would someone please explain what the difference is between passive and active pickups? And what are the advantages and disadvantages of either one ? Peace
I don't have a preference. I like both; however if I had to choose, active are better. They give a better tone, it feels more alive. Hard t explain, just go and try out a passive then immediately try an active.
active pickups have batteries inside them. some people say that active pickups are better for metal. what you should do is try both types of pickups on the same bass guitar to hear the difference
