Mark the two PA speakers ended up going on the floor in front of the stage partly due to some feedback issues and lack of room on stage.
The drummer and myself share a largemonitor and the guitarists/singers have one each ,no drums or Bass through speakers just vocals and a hint of guitar. lead guitarists likes to impro his solos and we need to know when to come back in otherwise it ends up turning into a prog rock jam session so him being louder in the monitors is essential.
Yeah load in/outs are great ,and guess who owns the van !!!!!
Sabaton time again, another power metal war ballad. This song, Talvisota, is about the Finnish winter war from 1939/1940.
I can pluck the strings pretty quick despite the nerve damage I have in my right hand. But watching you made me go cross eyed. NICE
Thanks! Heavy gauge strings help a lot. They make the fingers bounce off, ready for the next attack. I touch the strings rather lightly, without stressing the fingers. Pinky and ring finger are just hanging there without any tension.
Its not the strings. Its the player. Shows the hours you have put in. Ask any new bass player. Alternate finger plucking is difficult at first and takes time. Its not easy and doesn't happen overnight. Good job Jay. Not my music but that doesn't matter. I still play batman as a warm up. Ha Ha. DADADADADADADADADA. And no those aren't the notes in case someone says that's not how it goes. I was singing the tune out loud. Good fun frivolous tune to loosen your fingers up if you were a Batman fan back in the day. But you got to start slow and then work your way up to blistering Bat Speed. I listen to all sorts of styles. And its not a shot at what you like to play. Most people hate what I listen to and play. I am interested in what you are doing. And others. I very much like watching a good bass player no matter what they play. And I watched your video 3 times to see what you were doing. I pick up things that way. I highly recommend to new players. Watch what others are playing and how they position there fingers on the frets and move up and down on the neck. And don't be afraid of music. Don't be afraid to listen to or try different things. Maybe your grandfather was into early jazz or jazz fusion etc. Don't knock it until you focus on the bass. You might be surprised at what you hear. Don't listen to anyone but yourself. Experiment with everything. It has been very helpful to me. Especially this last year of playing. I have been playing 6 days a week going on 4 years now. I am still a baby when it comes to playing bass. But getting there. That's it. That's all from the peanut gallery. I like your videos and the background theme and the effort you put into making them Jay. Keep it up. Ciao 4 now.
