...How have you not heard of FFDP until yesterday?
No idea…

...You really should check some more fret positions like 5 and 7...I did lots of Ramones covers. Many of those have now been blocked in 200+ countries...

I will do that - also, when your covers were blocked, had you recorded them using a CD or an MP3? I've been using videos that already exist on YouTube since I ran into that using an MP3 of Should I Stay or Should I Go and I'm just wondering if using “commercial” copies is from what YouTube picks up copyright tags.

Thanks!

so if mine is in tune as I currently have it pictured, what does that mean?

When a string is fretted it stretches slightly, taking it slightly out of tune, setting the intonation minimises how much out of tune it becomes. On a four string bass of 34“ scale, the G string is pretty much 34” from nut to bridge saddle. As the strings get thicker the saddles need to be moved slightly further from the nut until the fretted note at the 12th fret is perfectly in tune with the natural harmonic at the 12th fret. With the intonation set and the guitar in tune every time you play you will soon notice when the intonation is out as you move around the fingerboard, you will start to hear what sound like ‘bum’ notes. This is why rock stars take their own guitar techs on tour

Blocking depends on the copyright holder. In many cases it's WMG who blocks. We (a guitarist and I) did a few tests. It's like they block randomly. MP3 or CD doesn't make any difference. Sometimes a song is blocked for a few months only. Once I filed a dispute. After a month I was given right, but the next day they blocked it again. Normally I don't really care. Only if I get a message from YouTube, informing me they may apply copyright strikes, I take the song down. After all it's not worth the fight.

Jay is a pretty cool cat, but he ain't got nothing on Patrick Harris.

No, I don't do vocals. Doing vocals would get me banned from YT.

I like his choice of set dressing.
