Ukulele Chords...why?

How many songs are there for ukulele? At least it has only four strings.

A bass ukulele is tuned E A D G, same as an electric bass. I haven't played one, but I'd guess you'd play it same as your bass. Anyone done this?

Yeah. They are made in a range of sizes to give different voicings, from high soprano to bass. See Wikipedia. The bass uke has the same note/frequency range as a bass and is tuned to the same notes. Might be a way to have a portable, nonelectric, practice instrument - but scale is shorter, if that would matter to a person. Plus you could the super cool surfer with the bass at the beach blanket party!
