Ampeg ?
Any opinions on Ampeg BA110
I'm a novice player. Just got my 1st bass for Christmas. I picked up the BA 108. I think it's great for a beginner such as myself. Very clean and crisp. I'm sure the 110 is even better
I've never tried their combos, but Ampeg's reviews are always good so it may be something to check out for only 180. By the way, you could always get the old Fender Rumble 100, which looks more kickass than the new ones, for only 90-120 bucks.

I was shopping for a new bass amp this past Christmas and the cheapest Rumble 100 I saw was more than twice that. You might be able to find a used on one ebay for that much but if you're looking to buy new, you're talking closer to $300.
If you want an Ampeg, the old SVTs are coming down in price and they kick ass, (arse)

Are you sure it wasn't the new one? The old black ones with a metal grill have been that cheap for awhile
I have the Fender Rumble 75…couldn't be more happy with it. Being I'm an intermediate player…I guess I'm a little bias, because its my 1st amp. lol
I'd go with the 100, for some reason people can sell it cheaper than the 75.. But if Chopps is looking to play in a band the 100 would give him a little more power and the 15 inch speaker is going to sound better
I have an old Ampeg SVT-70T from the late 80s and it is pretty damn sweet! All the options you would want.

I Also have the Rumble 75 and i love it
My previous amp the Marshall MB30 was very much lacking in volume and guts for jam sessions
For a combo the Rumble 75 is a bit of a beast size and weight wise for transporting around though
But it makes a right told racket and the built in overdrive channel gets some pretty decent fuzz tones
