Hi all

I'm new to this site. Just wondering if anyone has tab or sheet music for the bassline to California Soul?

Trying hard to learn it but i'm finding it difficult to hear what is going on.

At this stage i'm considering trying to feel the basic rhythm of the bassline and basically busking the notes, but i'd prefer to get as close to the original as possible.

Thanks
Kev

Have you checked other tab sites - ultimateguitar, 911tabs, ttabs, cifraclub, chordie, etc? They might have it, or the guitar chords for it.

Thanks, yeah i've checked lots of places and can't find it. I have the guitar chords so I can busk along with the song but I'd love to play as close to the original as possible.
Hey, I know it's five years later, but I was looking too & couldn't find it, so transcribed it. Here y'all go!

(If you've found this particularly useful & can afford it, please feel free to buy me a coffee/pint - i'm a musician out of work in the time of Coronavirus! paypal.me/tpickles)
need to check.
The sheet is really great @picklest!!

Just curious, does anyone know who played bass on the Marlena Shaw ver?
Answering my own question above, I think Louis Satterfield was the bassist on the Marlena Shaw version (just judging by a comment on YouTube and the fact that Satterfield played in the label's groovy rhythm section, along with Morris Jennings on drums - https://www.dustygroove.com/browse.php?incl_oos=1&kwfilter=Cadet)
