How much was the Hipshot by the way, you can get a set of Wilkinson tuners off ebay fir 15 quid
I paid $69.99 for one with a black finish, the closest match to the black nickel of my basses stock hardware but they start as cheap as $64.99 (chrome) and go to $79.99 (gold).
Thats twice the price of a set of genuine Klusons

How many are in a set, four? You have to remember that an Extender is mechanically more complicated than a normal tuning machine so it will be more expensive. The sets of regular tuners I saw were generally the same price as one Extender.
Got my Hipshot today with the mail running a day behind because of memorial day. Installation went ok and everything is looking and sounding good. Currently I have it set up to go from Bb to G#.
Saw the video and have to admit they do look the biz, I'd probably only ever use drop D. I have plans to build a headless bass, all drawn up and ready to go, the bridge is a Stienberger D B with a lever to drop to…well you've guessed it, D or B, check em out
