how the heck am i supposed to do this
I just got a lefty bass help I am left handed and don't know how to play
Hold the bass with the neck in your right hand and puck the strings with your left hand, check out the Beatles on youtube and watch how Paul MacArtney does it. Enjoy
Youre both in good company, other southpaws include; Adolf Hitler, Vlad the Impaler, Jengiz Khan, Jack the Ripper, Mao Tse Tung, Ted Bundy, Judas Iscariot and Donald Duck
I had heard that Ted Bundy was quite the cable thumper in college.
I had a college roommate and band mate that was left handed, but forced himself to play right handed guitars. His solos were amazing, but his strumming sucked.
Good luck with the new instrument, Lefty.
I'm left handed but play bass and guitar right handed. I do not recommend this. It has a psychological effect on me in a way that I am not confident that I will ever become anything more than an average player.
The drums I play left handed and left footed. My whole kit is set up ‘mirrored’.

Some quality people there! serial killers, psychopathic dictators and co..
on the positive side we can claim Hendrix, Iommi, Charlie Chaplin and McCartney.
I just finished a book about Bundy and it made no mention of his handedness? looked it up and yes he's one of us
Johnny could you not revert to playing lefty?
Donald Duck was a southpaw?
Okay, so I lied about the Duck, I also lied about the Ripper, he slit his victims throats from behind left to right, making him (or her!) Right handed
Just looking at what Johnny is saying, who else feels they just arent good enough? This has dogged me for years, I know I'll never be Billy Sheehan but I can keep the rhythm moving along, it haunts me that I 'm not standing out, to a point that makes me ask the question, “What the f k am I doing here?”

....First off learn to read Tab(if you don't yet know how?)http://www.bigbasstabs.com/bass_lessons_bass_tabs/how_to_read_tab.html(Tabs are written in with each line representing one string on the guitar or bass, usually 6 or 4, respectively. In tablature, the highest line represents the highest (pitch) string. So the “top” string is actually on the bottom when you hold a guitar.)Have a look at these tabs, you might know some of the tunes.?http://www.bigbasstabs.com/bass_lessons_bass_tabs/cool_riffs_for_beginners.html
Lefties, however, should read the tabs using a mirror. LOL!!!
