How do i get to my truss rod?!
So I bought an Epi T-Bird Pro last weekend and the truss rod needs adjusted really badly but I can't reach it! It has a star shaped screw end instead of a regular allen key so I've no clue how to get down there to adjust it. Suggestions?
You should be about ready for your first Chevvy, but you're not gonna take the camshafts out and weld new metal to the lobes and grind them back to give you high lift cams, thus getting more air into the cylinders….leave your truss rod alone aswell
Sorry if that doesnt sound too helpful, but if you want to destroy $600 worth of bass, start tightening the truss rod without knowing what you are doing

But if you are determined to do it yourself, get the correct tool for your bass from your local music store or the internet. Remember, the truss rod is there to counter the pull on the neck caused by string tension, its not an action adjustment tool on its own, but used carefully with the bridge saddle height adjustment to get the best action. The T Bird has a glued in neck, so when its gone its gone
Go to a hardware store and buy a star key that fits it.
Truss rod always sounds like a 19th century stress relief method for incapacitated gentlemen.

You've already messed it up rather badly; get help before you ruin something.
It's not glued its neck through or bolt on depending on which version you have
everyone's always told me “don't try this at home” - and to take it to a shop and let the pros do it. most don't even charge you.
