I bought some stuff there (mostly effect pedals) with my friends since the shipping was the same regardless of the number of items (25 )

There are a number of good places to buy bass supplys if you use a pick there is In tune GP them guys rock and can do custom stuff. Also guitar center and there are some good deals to be had.

thomann.de is a really good place to buy online. I actually bought my bass (i know, i should've tried it out first) from there with warranty too

Probably your best bet is Musiciansfriend.com they're actually pretty popular and it's and off brand of guitar center. You can also set up an account there an request a free catalog.
