What's your opinion? Should the bassist be heard or stay behind the guitars?

Quite a memory you have, Marko1960. It seems unlikely that your future includes dementia. That is good news

I saw them on their Moving Pictures anniversary tour in 2010
I have never seen Rush live as sad as it is. But I Went to Uproar fest a couple years ago and seen Disturbed and A7X. Hell of a show.

I can't stand A7X or Disturbed. However, Love and Death, Device (David Draiman's band), and Korn was really good. Device beats Disturbed by a lot in my opinion

I don't mind as long as the song is good.

When I played in a band we had a few songs that were more about the bassist. He really stood out at that time, got to the center of the stage and we let him have his moment.

Other songs we just made sure he had his bass face on and kept the groove going

Some bassists, especially in commercial music only play the root notes of the chord, but good bassists have their own bass lines that make the song way better, if the song has an actual bass line, the bassist deserves to be heard.
