Distortion pedal advice
Hey guys I'm thinking of getting a distortion pedal, just to make my sound heavier. However I'm on a budget of no more than $100. Right now I'm thinking of getting the Blogger or Big muff Pi. Also I was thinking of the Death Metal pedal, even though it's not for bass, but I'm not sure if that would be dangerous for my amp. Anyone got suggestions?
But the Boss Ds-1 is for guitar, would that damage my amp or lose my low end sound?
The Boss Ds-1 has worked fine for me for years with no problems. You may ant to turn up the bass on the amp if you are not happy. Live and the studio I've had no complaints. Have fun, that is the bottom line.
well the second 1 is for bass
Yeah I love the Big Muff Pi but unfortunatly my local music store doesn't have any bass pedals, however they do have the Boss Ds-1 but the guy at the store said it wouldn't sound good. But thanks to you guys I'll try out when I can.
I have the Big Muff Pi and it's not bad. The best distortion pedal I ever had on bass was actually a guitar distortion. It was a Thrashmaster pedal by DOD (I think). Had a pinkish color, which was odd, but the best distortion sound for me that I've heard so far.
Again, I'm thinking of the Death Metal pedal, even though it's for guitar. The only reson why I say that, is not only the name, but I heard that people NEVER use the high end because it gets too shrieky. But I'll look up the Thrashmaster too
the death metal petal will release your fret buz outrageousely through the amp go for the ds 1 its amazing on basses the guy at the music store lied to you
Hahahaha ok! But as for the fret buzz, It's actually the gain and treble, but mostly gain, because alot of thrash/death/black metal require it. I'm just wondering if I'll lose my low end sound.
