Back to the Drawing Board
RIGHT, Finally my second bass design is finalised and cast in stone, no going back now. The B, E, A, D tuning is a bit too radical to blow £300 build cost on so I've come up with a solution, the spec is now; Mahogany body with routed cavities for weight reduction and quilted maple top, birds eye maple neck, ebony board, 35" scale length, EMG pickups; Jazz, neck, Jazz, middle, MM Stingray, bridge, 3 band EQ, and here's the best bit, Headless with Steinberger DB bridge which gives drop D or drop B tuning at the flick of a switch and the double ball end strings give unrivalled tuning stability, SO, let the work commence!
