I love funk but I'm not sure of many artists except George Clinton, Stevie Wonder, and random stuff I've heard on the radio. So what's some good funky bass lines? Thanks for all replies that come my way!

^^^ Those are some of my go-to bands any time funky bass lines are mentioned. Lots of great bass stuff from early 80s rap/hip-hop.

I don't really want to play RHCP as I don't have a G string. I played their stuff before I broke it TUNING IT. What a stupid way to break it
Bootsy Collins. Goofy lookin' bastard, but got to listen to as far as funk goes.

I've done that with a D string, they were a light gauge set, so after that I decided to hell with it, I'll just get some heavy gauge strings and do slap funk, and tapping on those. Haven't looked back since.
