Zoom b1 is it any good?
I look at youtube reviews, it seems a bit synthy sounding.

The main reason I will not keep the octave pedal I have (first pedal I ever bought, recommended by another bass player as the essential pedal) is that it sounds too ‘synthy’ for my taste. I would stay away from synthy-sounding effects - I didn't like it in the octave pedal.

I have an old zoom ps02 mini studio, which has a couple of bass settings, but its 90% guitar based fx otherwise and I can't quite get the balance of it on a bass amp, its either turn it right down so the drums don't blast out and then not hear the bass, or turn it all up and deafen myself/neighbours..
So a more bass designed fx would be good for me..? I might look for a secondhand one then if I bother, as its easier to justify spending £20 on something rather than £50 to find you don't like it.
I rarely use an effect pedal. Really I think the only pedal I “need” is a chorus, and I only use it when I play New Order and Dandy Warhols.
And, yes, I would get pedals designed for bass guitar.
Don't rush to get a pedal is what I think I am trying to say. Cheers.
