My mom has shown all the classics everyone should know by the time I was 9: Flock Of Seagulls, Thompson Twins, Boy George who is one of my favorite singers of all time, Melle Mel, Jackson 5, John Cougar, Cheap Trick, White Zombie, Metallica, and a slew of others. I mention Boy George, no one knows who that is but my teacher. All the other people (14-15) just listen to new pop which to me is an extreme low and a total untalented genre compared to 80s pop. And how do you not know or Melle or Scorpio is?!
Here's how. Some peoples parents anen't cool enough to educate their kids in good music.
I wish I could travel back in time to experience the 1980s. Perhaps I could even save Cliff

Hey man, Alot of us would give anything to be able to go back and save Cliff. Wish he didn't die, but fate had other plans. A true spectacle gone way before his time. Although, thinking about having the chance to go back and save him would be kick ass.
Trust me linkin. I'm 19 and I know more about the fabulous tapitry that is music histroy than most people my age in my state. I've just got my girlfriend into Cheep Trick, Slaughter, and Tesla. I feel your pain.

My mom gave a Slaughter cd a few years ago; kick-ass!!!! And Tesla is awesome!! Have one of my dad's tapes of theirs. And a have a concert shirt of theirs. My mom said that when she was like 19 she forgot to lock her car one night and that literally over FORTY CDs were stolen. They were all like Pantera and White Zombie. Like what the hell?
It's a shame to loose Pantera and White Zombie. A damn shame. We need to convert our generation.

CDs… damn. My first car ('79 Ford Granada) had a factory installed 8-track player. You could buy these adapters that you put a cassette tape into, then insert the whole thing into the 8-track machine. Worked pretty decent, but you sometimes had to fold up a book of matches and slide them in under the adapter (or 8-track tape itself if you were playing one) to get it to align properly.
Ah, the good old days!!
