Thought I'd share one of my warm-up riffs. I'm sharing it here because it's only a few staffs and I don't feel it warrants being submitted as a full tab.
I actually stole this from Timmo Tolki of Stratovarius, who uses it as one of his many guitar warm-up scales, but it works just as well on bass. I start it lower on the neck than he does, and I usually throw in a bunch of 16th notes at the end (as you can see below). I believe it's from a piece of classical music but I couldn't tell you which one.
The idea is to start slow and play it faster with each subsequent run-through. I start at a relaxed, lazy tempo of about 70pbs, and speed up each subsequent run until I'm up to the fastest I can go and still hit every note cleanly (finger-style), which is around 150bps or so. Faster than that and I start missing notes like a 'tard.
Anyway, I hope someone finds it useful.
