Jay, what equipment/software are you using to record your videos
Recording of the bass is done with a Line6 BackTrack digital recorder, which creates an uncompressed wav-file. The headphone output of my BP90 multi-effect pedal is fed into this BackTrack recorder.
Here's a tutorial that explains my way of working with freeware programs.

Audacity is for free and you can add as many tracks as you like. The only limit is available memory I guess.
