Don't take this one too seriously. Three notes apparently are enough to make one a bass player.

“Pretty good,” he replies. “Today we learned about the E string.”
The next day, the kid comes back from his second lesson and his dad again asks him how it went.
“Pretty good,” he replies again. “Today we learned the A string”.
The next day the kid comes home and his dad asks, “so did they teach you the D string today?”
“Naw,” the kid replies. “Today I had a gig.”
If only that was true, in reality I think we all agree its not that simple
